Upcoming Campus Construction beginning on Wednesday, July 14

On Saturday, July 15, two boom trucks with welding rigs will be brought to the site through the Academic Quad to support the structural steel welding on the project.

Hello colleagues,

We are writing to inform you of upcoming construction activities on campus that may affect vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Here are the details:

Cannady Hall Construction: On Saturday, July 15, two boom trucks with welding rigs will be brought to the site through the Academic Quad to support the structural steel welding on the project. The trucks will enter the quad from Cambridge Street and remain on the existing sidewalks until they reach Anderson Hall. For pedestrian safety, the trucks will be escorted by ground guides and spotters and will exit using the same pathway. Pedestrian traffic may be impacted in these areas.

Old Sid Richardson Demolition Reminder: The demolition of Old Sid Richardson is underway. As activities intensify around Old Sid and the South Colleges Lot, please be mindful of heavy construction traffic in these areas. While limited pathways to New Sid Rich will be maintained on the south side, pedestrians are encouraged to explore alternative access points. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Facilities Engineering and Planning at 713-348-2485.

Thank you for your dedication to our campus community,
