Facilities and Maintenance Services
The Facilities Maintenance group consists of project managers, building liaisons, construction services managers, and maintenance crafts including Preventive Maintenance, Electrical/Elevators, Plumbing/Mechanical Repair, Equipment Repair, Carpentry and Painting, and HVAC. Together these groups steward the buildings on campus through proactive preventative maintenance, diligent project management, quality field services – both for existing and new buildings, positive collaboration and communication with our customers - inclusive of faculty, staff, and students and driven by a “customer first” philosophy.
Mission: To provide customer-centric, cost-effective, efficient, and reliable maintenance while preserving and upgrading the integrity of all campus facilities and grounds. This is accomplished with minimal interruptions to the campus community and is achieved through maximizing the use of skilled workers, accurate/timely planning, ever-increasing productivity, and proactive and consistent customer communication with ongoing sensitivity toward customer needs.
Information: Administrative offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Maintenance Crafts can be reached from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the Preventive Maintenance Shop on duty from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Call-out shop associates are available 24/7 for emergency purposes. For after-hours assistance, please call the Facilities Service Center at 713-348-2485 and follow the prompts. In an emergency, please call the Central Plant Control Room at 713-348-4095.
